Letter to Claire

Letter to Claire:

I know this is a little late because you turned three years old a month ago but this is your scrapbook...your life. I hope one day you have these books of stories and pictures and enjoy each thought and memory they bring. You teach me so much about life I just have to stop and smile sometimes. This week you have been home sick, your asthma flared up again...yes, you have been diagnosed with asthma and now have to be on daily medicine to prevent any more attacks. I think you are 3 going on 13...and I am being serious!!! You vocabulary blows my mind, you talk like such a little grown up! You told me the other day that the storm in Pippy Longstocking made you nervous! What 3 year old says nervous? maybe scared, but nervous!! And you are so bright...which is causing a little problem in the discipline area, you are quick to change the subject if you know you are about to get in trouble. You think its fun to say the word "poop", so after a couple of time outs, you learned you are not suppose to say that word...so now if you start to say it you quickly say "winnie the pooh" to cover it up!! Clever, I would say...but this Momma caught on real quick!! You love to sing and want to listen to your music in the car. You have an exceptional memory, still love, love, love books, stickers, coloring, baby dolls, band aid addict, princesses, playing outside, and watching movies. You still line everything up in rows...very organized I would say. Want to be completely independent...dress yourself, bath yourself, everything is "do it myself"! I give it 6 months before you know how to completely spell your name...you know it starts with a "C". You are strong willed....I got a phone call at work that you kicked one boy and hit another in the jaw all because they would not move off the place you wanted to sit....needless to say, a lot of talking too, a time out, wooden spoon, and no movies later I think you understood we don't just act that way. On a positive note, you are pretty good with you manners. You have got "please" and "thank you" down and the "mams and sirs" are coming along! So proud! You love going to church and to school, you love your friends! This was even your first year of church choir!....still working on standing still while we sing. Speaking of standing still....you don't know how to do that...you are constantly moving and constantly doing something!! Even sitting in your chair at the dinner table becomes a little bit of a task! There are so many wonderful things about the little girl you are that I could write until my fingers fall off...I am going to try and get better with all the funny little everyday stories again....like today, you had a little toy mirror sitting on your bookshelf, you were looking in it pretending to fix your hair! too funny! You have learned so much in your pre-school class, academically you are doing great....working on the discipline!!!...trying to get stickers three days in a roll so you can pick out of the treat bucket has served a bit challenging!

Above all us else you are amazing little girl that brightens my heart and my world everyday!!! I can only hope that I can half of the mother to you that you are the daughter to me!!!! I love you baby girl!!!!.....one night I told "I love you" and you said "you didn't say baby, say baby Momma"! As fast as you are growing....always you will be my baby girl!!!!

XOXO~ Momma
